I passed in my thesis draft. Hallelujah. Now I have at least a few days to rest and try to regain my sanity. Although, the regaining of the sanity will involve more than just rest--I desperately need to do laundry and clean my horribly messy apartment. It is pretty bad. Looking around it last night though, I realized that most of the crap in here is HIS. If you take away all of his stuff, it really isn't that messy at all. Oh well. I will take care of that today or tomorrow.
I finally mailed my Mom's package today. I overnighted it so that it will get to her tomorrow, in time for her birthday on Sunday. I should have just mailed it sooner to save on the shipping cost, but I wanted to include both books I read in the past couple weeks (my Mom and I swap books a lot), and I didn't finish My Sister's Keeper until last night. It wasn't as good as the Time Traveler's Wife, but definitely worth reading. It had a pretty rough ending--I was ugly sobbing. But it almost seemed unnecessarily sad, like the author was just looking for the most emotionally crushing ending she could write. But it was different from most of the other books I've read, so I enjoyed the change of pace. I think I will have to go back to Borders today. Now that my draft is done, I will start going through books faster. Novels don't last long in my apartment.
Obviously the job search also has to really start now. But I am not going to worry about that today.
Tomorrow, he and I are going down to a lake near our apartment building. I haven't been down there yet, but I hear there are picnic tables and a beach. It has been so hot here--it would really be nice to get out near some water. I am surprised that he agreed to go, given the fact that I normally have to drag him kicking and screaming out of the apartment, but I am glad he did. Tuesday we have Cirque du Soleil.
I am still feeling kind of BLAH in general, for all the usual reasons, but I just have to try to keep all the negative thoughts out of my mind. It is time to relax and enjoy myself for the weekend.
